About Starline Alpacas

Starline Alpacas is a working alpaca farm and farm stay on Milbrodale Road outside Broke, in the Hunter Valley between Cessnock and Singleton. The property looks out to the Brokenback Range, with Yengo and Wollemi national parks beyond, and wineries all around.

The main draw for day visitors is the alpaca encounter: you buy a ticket and a bag of feed at reception, then go into the enclosure to hand-feed the alpacas and wander the visitor paddocks at your own pace. There are other farmyard animals too. No booking is needed, and sessions run in any weather every day of the year except Christmas Day. Published prices (2026) are A$15 for adults, A$10 for children 5 to 15, A$12 concession, and A$45 for a family of two adults and two children including a bag of food; extra food bags are A$5.

The farm is set up for families and groups, with school group rates, gift vouchers, tennis court hire, e-bike hire and charging for electric cars. If you want to stay, there is a cluster of farm-stay cottages, from Waterview and Mountain-view cottages to a family cottage and the Stockyard Suite, with check-in at 3 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m. Weddings are also held on the property.

Hunter Lavender Farm is also in Broke, about 10 minutes away, so children can feed alpacas and then see the lavender in the same morning when the lavender farm is open for its summer bloom.

What to do

  • Hand-feed the alpacas inside their enclosure
  • Walk the visitor paddocks and meet the other farmyard animals
  • Hire an e-bike to explore the Broke area
