About Mews Tavern
Mews Tavern opened on Main Street in Wakefield in 1947 as a small fishermen's tavern. It has grown to three bars and a large dining room known as the tree room, and it is a South Kingstown institution for a casual meal.
The draw for many visitors is the beer list: 69 taps, with many local craft beers and rare or limited releases. The kitchen is known for burgers, pizza and wings, and adds seafood, meat and produce that change with the seasons; the summer 2026 menu is posted on their website. If you are after a particular brewery or style, check the current beer list on their website before you go. Gift cards are sold there as well.
The kitchen serves the full menu from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, then switches to a late-night menu until midnight. The bars stay open until 1 a.m. You can book a table online, join the waitlist, or order takeout.
Lavender Waves Farm is only about 7 minutes from downtown Wakefield. It is an easy dinner stop after an afternoon cut-your-own slot during the late June to July bloom.
