About Miller's Bay Farm

Miller's Bay Farm sits on Rideau Ferry Road in Lombardy, between Perth and Smiths Falls, and has been farmed by the Miller family since 1896. Robert and Shannon Miller, the fourth generation, run it today; Robert grew up on this farm and Shannon on her own family's farm a few kilometres away. It is a market garden and berry patch rather than a big attraction, and most of what they grow is sold right at their roadside stand.

The season opens in spring with asparagus, then moves to strawberries, which you can pick yourself or buy already picked. Through summer the stand fills with beans, tomatoes, cucumbers including pickling types, sweet corn, zucchini, peppers and potatoes, and the year ends with squash and pumpkins in sizes from large to miniature. In 2026 the stand's posted hours were 9:30 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday including holidays, from June to October 31; it is closed Sundays.

Pick-your-own strawberry hours start early, at 7 am, and depend on the weather. The 2026 patch has closed, and the farm says it will reopen in 2027. For regulars, the farm packs weekly Bountiful Baskets of produce picked for each customer, and its email alerts announce when asparagus and ripe berries are ready.

Aflori Acres, a new lavender property near Athens, is about 30 km south, roughly a 30-minute drive. Check their website for open days before planning the pair, since they host mainly scheduled events.
