About Brigadoon Restaurant

Brigadoon occupies a limestone building in the village of Oxford Mills that went up around 1853 as the Waugh General Store and post office. Its thick walls are local quarried stone. Cheryl Mackie, who came from England, and her granddaughter Stephanie turned it into a restaurant in 1990, and the Mackie family still runs it. Inside, the old store is now a dining room furnished with antiques, and out back there is a garden patio.

The menu mixes British comfort food with French cooking and changes with the seasons. Regulars come for the crêpes, French onion soup, fish and chips and sticky toffee pie. Afternoon tea is served on china of your choosing with small handheld treats; the current high tea menu was updated in May 2026, and the main menu is posted on the restaurant's website.

The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. and closed Monday and Tuesday. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and for special events. Brigadoon holds Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, live music evenings and seasonal high tea celebrations, and gift cards can cover a meal or an afternoon tea.

Lavender Mills Farm is in the same North Grenville community, only a few minutes' drive away. In summer, walk the lavender rows in the morning and come back to the village for lunch or afternoon tea.
