About Paynes Rise Wines
Paynes Rise sits on the land of Thomas Payne, Seville's first settler, and the cellar door is in his 1860s homestead. Visitors can wander through the original house and its outbuildings. Tim and Narelle Cullen run the winery and make small-batch, single-vineyard wines from their own vineyard in Seville, including the Redlands Shiraz, Brody's Block pinot-syrah blend, pinot gris, chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and a non-vintage sparkling cuvée.
The cellar door is open Thursday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The kitchen serves a casual, seasonal à la carte lunch from 11:30 a.m., and the spring 2026 menu covers light lunches, salads, seafood, pasta, share platters, pizzas and desserts. Local beer, cider and specialty coffee are also poured, and Sunday live-music sessions are announced on their website. Tables can be booked on their website, by email or by phone.
Groups are welcome for tastings and shared lunches, and bookings are essential; groups of 15 or more who cancel within a week pay a A$100 fee. A smaller function space, the Elm Room, hosts private gatherings, and the estate also does weddings. Dogs aren't allowed because of the animals on the property, and outside food and drink aren't permitted.
Warratina Lavender Farm in Wandin North is under 10 minutes west, so a summer lavender visit and lunch here fit neatly into one morning.
