About Southampton Inn
The Southampton Inn is a 90-room hotel on Hill Street in Southampton Village. Rooms are made up with Matouk linens and Tempur-Pedic mattresses, and the grounds hold a 50-foot heated pool, a single court set up for both tennis and pickleball, and two lawns with lawn games and outdoor TV areas. Claude's Gallery, inside the inn, hangs shows by established and up-and-coming artists.
Summer is the inn's high season, running from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. A shuttle runs between the inn and Coopers Beach all summer, and the front desk hands out beach chairs and umbrellas at no charge. It also rents bikes for getting around the village and keeps rackets, paddles and balls for the court. The inn stays open after summer, with a lower nightly resort fee in the off-season.
Claude's Restaurant serves breakfast every day from 7 to 11 a.m. and brunch Friday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with tables in a courtyard under bistro lights or out on the pool patio. Pets are welcome in designated rooms when booked ahead, and the inn hosts meetings, parties and wedding weekends indoors and out.
Hoshyla Farms, a fifth-generation family farm in Manorville that grows lavender and holds a summer lavender festival, is about 30 minutes west on Sunrise Highway, an easy morning trip before an afternoon at the beach. Lavender By The Bay in East Marion looks close on a map, but the drive loops around the bays through Riverhead and takes closer to an hour.
