About Bedell Cellars

Bedell Cellars on Main Road in Cutchogue is one of the family-owned pioneers of Long Island's North Fork, and it has made wine in small batches for about forty years. The tasting room sits along Route 25 in the middle of the North Fork wine country, and the winery also runs the nearby Corey Creek Tap Room.

No reservation is needed for groups of up to 15; larger groups email the winery ahead. The tasting room is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Bookable experiences add structure: Tour & Taste includes a reserved table for three hours, a sparkling welcome, a one-hour cellar tour, a four-pour Estate Flight and a cheese and charcuterie platter. Smaller packages for couples and birthdays include a reserved table, a dedicated pourer and a platter.

Outside food is not allowed, so plan on the wine and food menus posted on the winery's website. Bedell also hosts weddings and private events on its pavilion from May to early October, which means the tasting room has some closure dates in September and October; the winery posts a closure list on its website. Music and events are listed on its calendar.

Lavender by the Bay's North Fork field in East Marion is about 20 minutes east on Route 25, so a July morning in the lavender rows can roll into an afternoon tasting in Cutchogue.
