About Stephen Talkhouse
The Stephen Talkhouse is a small music club on Main Street in Amagansett that has put touring performers on its stage since 1987, mixing internationally known acts with musicians from the East End. It doubles as a neighborhood bar, and its staff is part of the draw: more than 20 employees have worked there over a decade, and five for more than 30 years.
The club is open year-round, not just in summer. The main room has a long wooden bar, a dance floor and the stage; a quieter back bar still carries the sound, and an outdoor patio comes into its own on summer evenings. Doors open an hour before the posted show time, and for sold-out 8 p.m. shows a line can start forming around 6. The October 2026 calendar had early shows at 8 p.m. and late sets at 10, with tickets from $12 to $146.
Everyone must be 21 to get in. The Talkhouse no longer serves dinner, so eat first at one of the restaurants within walking distance. A VIP ticket holds a reserved table seat until showtime; general admission gets you in without a guaranteed seat, and some dance-oriented shows clear the tables altogether. Tickets at the door are cash only, all sales are final, and exchanges are allowed within two weeks.
Hoshyla Farms, a family lavender farm in Manorville, is about 50 minutes west along Route 27, so a summer afternoon among the lavender can end with a show here. Plan a designated driver for the ride home.
