About Tomasello Winery
Tomasello Winery has been family run since 1933 and calls itself the only fourth-generation, family-owned winery in New Jersey. Its home vineyard is behind the Hammonton tasting room on the White Horse Pike, with more vines in neighboring Winslow Township. The family makes more than 50 wines, including estate-grown varietals, reds, whites, rosé, sparkling wines, hard ciders, fruit wines and moscato, cream wines and a non-alcoholic line.
At Hammonton you can walk out among the vines and take photos by the gazebo, then sit indoors or, in the warmer months, outside. A tasting visit can last up to an hour and a half, and you can also just buy bottles without tasting. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons the Sips & Sounds series brings live music, and the winery also holds galas and outdoor movie nights in the vineyard.
Charcuterie and cheese plates are served daily, tapas Friday through Sunday, and a lunch menu Friday through Sunday from 11:30 AM. Only food and drinks bought on site are allowed. Children are welcome if supervised at all times, though the experience is aimed at adults, and only service dogs are permitted. The ballroom and vineyard also host weddings.
Lamorè Lavender in Gibbsboro, about 30 minutes northwest, sells its lavender salts, sugars and bath goods online and at a weekly farmers market rather than through farm visits; check its market day if you want both in one trip.
