About Beck Evans Farm
Beck Evans Farm, formerly Kelsey's Farm, is about 25 acres of working farmland beside the River Cray on Water Lane in Sidcup, close to Bexley and the Five Arches. It is open seven days a week and mixes farm-day activities with a restaurant, a campsite and a lavender field, all reachable by train from central London.
The lavender and wildflower fields are open to the public every day during the flowering season, which the farm gives as May to September, from 9am to 6pm. Dogs are not allowed on the lavender fields. Photographers, both professional and amateur, must book their sessions in advance, and the farm asks everyone to look after the plants and wildflowers.
Penelope's restaurant and farm shop covers coffee, a deli and a hut, with outdoor seating where dogs are welcome. The farm also has Crazy Club soft play, a fully serviced campsite, and a calendar of seasonal events such as pumpkin picking, a Halloween disco, pumpkin smashing, a fireworks display and Christmas trees. Parking is always free, with spaces for disabled visitors, six solar-powered electric car charging points and a secure bike shelter. Old Bexley and Albany Park stations are each about a 15-minute walk.
Hewitts Farm near Orpington is about 20 minutes south by car for more pick-your-own.
