About Hewitts Farm
Hewitts Farm is a 78-acre family farm on Court Road, the A224 between Orpington and junction 4 of the M25, opposite Chelsfield Lakes Golf Course. The family has worked the land for more than 45 years on a farm that goes back centuries, and they run a pick-your-own and a farm shop.
Pick-your-own usually starts around mid-July with early orchard fruit and runs through to October, ending with pumpkins. The farm focuses on vegetables and orchard fruit rather than soft fruit. In early October 2026 the fields offered pumpkins, squash, sweetcorn, courgettes, cooking and eating apples, spinach, rainbow chard and beetroot. Entry is free and there's no booking for families; boxes can be bought at the entrance, and you pay by cash or card for what you pick. Coaches, schools and large parties must book two weeks ahead.
The farm shop sells the farm's fruit and vegetables with other local produce; local honey, pure apple juice and organic free-range eggs are favorites. From the first week of December the farm sells Christmas trees, both Nordmann non-drop and traditional, cut by a Scottish grower it has used for more than 15 years, plus potted trees, wreaths and mistletoe. Picnics aren't allowed on the farm itself, but there is a grassed area outside for them. Knockholt station is a walk away across the golf course footpath.
Castle Farm at Shoreham, in the Darent Valley, is about 10 minutes south, so a summer outing can pair its lavender fields with an afternoon of picking at Hewitts.
