About Westerham Brewery
Westerham Brewery makes its beers on Beggars Lane just outside Westerham, and its taproom and shop are on site. The range is gluten-free and runs from traditional Kentish ales such as British Bulldog and Spirit of Kent to Viceroy English IPA, Steampunk California Common, a triple chocolate stout and an alcohol-free pilsner.
The taproom and café open Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 9:30pm, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 10pm and Sunday until 6pm; they're closed Monday and Tuesday. A different street food trader cooks each day from noon, with dishes that change through the week, from Nepalese momos and North Indian curries to wood-fired pizza, fried chicken and barbecue. The venue is cashless, and tables can be booked online.
Brewery tours with tastings run every Saturday morning from 11:30am to 12:30pm for up to 18 people, covering the brewing process and the brewery's history, with samples and a 10% voucher for beer to take home. Alcohol samples are strictly 18+, and the brewery asks guests not to wear high heels. Evenings bring quiz nights, live music and jam nights, and the upstairs Dungeons & Flagons space is a board game café. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Castle Farm, the lavender farm at Shoreham, is about 20 minutes northeast, so a summer lavender walk and a late lunch here make an easy day.
