About The Mount Vineyard

The Mount Vineyard sits on the hillside at Shoreham village, a short drive from Sevenoaks. It makes its own still and sparkling English wines, and the whole range is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Harvest usually runs from late September into early October, and the vineyard sometimes calls for volunteer pickers on its social pages.

Tastings run year-round on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 12:30 and 2:30. Each lasts about an hour and a half, includes a cheeseboard and a host who explains how the wines are made, and is listed at £35 a head. From late May to late September a 4:30 session adds a walk through the vines for £40. From May to September the Ten Acres shop also pours still and sparkling flights from £10.95, Wednesday to Sunday, with no booking needed (prices as listed in 2025). In winter, tastings move to the Wine Loft above the restaurant, which is up a flight of stairs.

The Courtyard Bar and Restaurant opens Wednesday to Saturday from noon to 11pm and Sunday from noon to 6pm. The Ten Acres shop sells the vineyard's wines with local spirits and hampers, and serves barista coffee and pastries on weekend mornings. Children are welcome to eat with their families but must stay seated and supervised because of a large pond; tastings are strictly for over-18s. Leashed dogs are welcome in all guest areas.

Castle Farm, the lavender farm at Shoreham, is just down the lane in Shoreham, about five minutes away, so the two make an easy summer pairing.

Tips for your visit

  • Tastings often sell out, so book ahead; if there's space, arrive 15 minutes early to join on the day.
  • Winter tastings are upstairs in the Wine Loft; contact the vineyard if stairs are a problem.
  • Only food and drink bought on site can be consumed there.
  • Plan a designated driver if you're tasting; the car park is on the right as you drive up, next to the shop.

Pair it with a lavender farm

Castle Farm · about 5 minutes away
