About Bonnieheath Estate Lavender and Winery
Bonnieheath Estate grows lavender alongside a vineyard on Concession 12 Townsend, just outside Waterford in Norfolk County and a short drive south of Brantford and Highway 403. The estate makes its own wines and a hard cider called Folkin' Hard Cider, and its boutique carries lavender, bath and body products and gift boxes. Admission to the grounds is free.
In 2026 the winery and shop open at 11 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Weekends start on April 4, Friday to Sunday hours begin April 24, and the estate is open daily from June 12, which covers the lavender season. From September 7 it goes back to Friday to Sunday, and it closes from December 21 until April. Once lavender season ends in late summer, the vineyard is open to explore as the grapes ripen.
Visitors can book a vintage picnic in front of the vines, a tasting for a small or large group, or a vineyard walk with a host or on their own. Snack boxes are stocked in the boutique daily, and fresh picnic boxes can be pre-ordered. Outside drinks are not allowed, and bringing your own food needs an outside food pass. The estate also hosts weddings and celebrations and rents a farmhouse and a cellar suite for overnight stays. Tastings are for adults of legal drinking age, so plan a designated driver.
Port Dover on Lake Erie is about 20 minutes south, making it an easy pairing for a summer day in Norfolk County.
