About Purple Haven Lavender Farm
Purple Haven is a small farm on Highway 3 in Canfield, in Haldimand County, growing lavender, cut flowers and sunflowers. The family makes its lavender goods by hand in small batches, and the barn store also sells preserves and artisan goods along with water, soft drinks, tea and coffee. The farm says email is the quickest way to reach them, since phone service is unreliable in the fields.
The fields are open from June through November. Depending on the month you can cut your own lavender, flowers or sunflowers, walk the forest trails, or visit the fall pumpkin patch. Cutting is allowed only after you pay for it and get the go-ahead from staff.
Much of the farm's calendar is built around food. In 2026 the farm listed a bring-your-own picnic day pass from $25, picnic menus at $45, an outdoor afternoon tea at $45 per person for two or more, a charcuterie picnic for two at $95 and private sunset dinner tours for two at $350, plus yoga Wednesdays at $17. Workshops fill the fall: a stained glass pumpkin class on October 24, 2026, and a Christmas decoupage workshop with lunch on November 8, 2026. Outside food is only allowed with the picnic pass.
The Twisted Lemon in Cayuga is about 15 minutes east along the Grand River for a meal or an overnight stay.
