About Richardson's Farm & Market
Richardson's Farm & Market sits on River Road just outside Dunnville, run by James and Kirsten Richardson. The farm grows strawberries, apples and pumpkins for picking, taps its own sugar bush for maple syrup, and stocks a farm store with pasture-raised chicken, local beef and pork, eggs, jams, pickles, frozen soups and take-and-bake pies.
The year starts in the sugar bush, with tours, pancakes, maple taffy and a backyard syrup-making workshop. Strawberries follow in early summer. In 2026 apple picking began September 19 and ran to October 10, and no farm admission is needed to pick apples.
Fall at the Farm runs on Saturdays from mid-September through late October (in 2026: September 19 and 26, and October 3, 10, 17 and 24), 10 am to 3 pm. Wagons leave hourly for the pumpkin field, and the visit includes a corn box, a straw jump, photo spots and goats and pigs to feed. Hot apple cider is sold at the store. Weekdays have no wagon rides or admission, but pre-picked pumpkins and goat feed are still for sale. Watch for Phoebe, the farm's friendly yellow lab, who often roams loose; staff will tie her up if you ask.
Purple Haven Lavender Farm on Highway 3 in Canfield is about 20 minutes away and keeps its field open June to November, so a fall Saturday can include both.
