About Great Country Farms

Great Country Farms is a family farm on Foggy Bottom Road in Bluemont, in western Loudoun County below the Blue Ridge. It mixes pick-your-own fields with a farm market and bakery, a play area and seasonal festivals, and wagons carry visitors out to the picking fields. The farm is open every day from 9 to 5.

The picking year runs from spring into fall. Tulips bloom in April, strawberries come in mid to late May into early June, cherries follow in early June, and peaches run from late June to early August. Blackberries peak in mid to late July, sunflowers are cut from late June into early August, and apples such as Honeycrisp come in August, with Gala and Fuji in September. Pumpkin picking runs from September 19 through October 31 in 2026 at 59 cents a pound. An April freeze cut the 2026 peach and cherry crops and limited apples, so the farm asks visitors to check its Now Picking page before coming.

Admission covers the barnyard animals, Cow Pie Putt-Putt, play areas and wagon rides; fall 2026 gate prices are $16 on weekdays and $18 on weekends, with children 2 and under free. Kids head for the Pumpkin Jumping Pillow, the splash pad, the giant mazes and the goats. The market sells baked goods and coffee, and shoppers can visit it without paying admission. Picnics are welcome. Fall brings an adult corn maze on October Friday and Saturday nights, and the farm lists Pumpkin Chunkin' and a cider festival in November and Christmas events in December.

Blooming Hill Lavender Farm in Purcellville is about 6 miles east, roughly 15 minutes away, so a summer morning of berry or sunflower picking pairs well with its lavender gardens.
