About Goodstone Inn & Restaurant

Goodstone Inn & Restaurant spreads across 265 acres of pasture, meadow and woods on Snake Hill Road outside Middleburg, in Loudoun County's hunt and wine country. Its 21 suites and cottages are split among seven buildings: four suites in the Carriage House, the two-suite Dutch Cottage with a fireplace and full kitchen, the French Farm and Spring House for families or groups, the four-room Manor House with a piano parlor and sunroom, the White Cottage with a screened porch and fire pit, and the Bull Barn honeymoon suite.

The estate is a working farm. The inn describes certified organic gardens, more than 100 free-range hens whose eggs go to the kitchen and are sold on site, 13 beehives, cattle rotated through the pastures, and goats, sheep, donkeys and a llama named Grayson. From Tuesday to Saturday guests can book a farm and garden tour, a guided hike, catch-and-release fishing, or tubing and kayaking on Goose Creek when the water allows. Overnight guests can borrow bicycles, hike the estate trails on their own and use the binoculars and bird guide left in each room. A heated saltwater pool overlooks the pastures in season.

Grayson's at Goodstone, the estate's farm-led restaurant, builds its seasonal menus around produce and eggs from the property, and it serves diners who are not staying overnight. The inn also hosts weddings, retreats and private gatherings. Guest rooms are for ages 14 and up, while the restaurant welcomes children of all ages with an adult.

Blooming Hill Lavender Farm in Purcellville is about 7 miles north, roughly a 20-minute drive on country roads, so a summer stay here can include its display gardens and gift shop.
