About Huber's Orchard, Winery & Vineyards
The Huber family has farmed in the hills of southern Indiana since 1843 and is now in its seventh generation. Their estate vineyard is among the oldest and largest in Indiana, and Starlight Distillery on the same property is one of the state's oldest and largest distilleries. The winery makes dry, semi-sweet and sweet wines along with sparkling, dessert and port-style bottles; the distillery makes bourbon, whiskeys, vodka, gin and brandies.
U-pick runs from spring into late fall. Strawberries start in late May, raspberries and blueberries in mid-June, peaches in late June, blackberries, sweet corn, sunflowers and zinnias in early July, table grapes and apples in mid-August, and pumpkins from mid-September, with U-cut Christmas trees after Thanksgiving. Containers and tools are provided, and everyone rides a wagon to the fields.
The Starlight Café serves lunch every day, with salads, sandwiches, pizza and charcuterie, and there is an ice cream shop and farm market on site. Families can spend hours at the Family Farm Park, while adults book wine or distillery tours and tastings in the Tasting Loft. Local bands play on the winery patio.
Lavender Creek Farm in Corydon is about 30 minutes southwest, and Sadona Farms near Scottsburg is a similar distance north, so a farm-market morning here pairs with a lavender stop on either side.
