About Pink Duck Creamery
Pink Duck Creamery opened in June 2025 in a historic corner building at Fourth and Main in downtown Huntingburg. Owners Brian and Vanessa Stieneker, a retired couple with family roots in the town, bought the building in 2020 and renovated it themselves into a bright pink scoop shop. The name joins Brian's love of ducks with Vanessa's favorite color.
The ice cream is small-batch, made on site and slow-churned for a rich, super-premium texture, with no preservatives or artificial colors. Ingredients come from local farmers when possible. The case rotates between 12 and 18 flavors, and the couple's years living in South Korea and Brazil show up in choices such as a Brazilian-style pineapple sorbet with lime zest. Opening flavors also included strawberries and cream, bourbon butterscotch, and dark chocolate with cherries and amaretto. There are dairy, non-dairy and vegan options, a sugar-free sorbet, homemade toppings, and homemade waffle cones. A flight of four small scoops lets you try several at once, and prices ran about $4 to $10 when the shop opened.
At its 2025 opening the shop kept Friday and Saturday hours from noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m., and it is closed Mondays. It also brings ice cream to events. White River Lavender Farm near Jasper is about 25 minutes north, so a cone here rounds out a summer drive through Dubois County.
