About Ramseyer Farms

Ramseyer Farms is a 720-acre, fifth-generation farm between Wooster and Smithville, just off State Route 585. Daniel Ramseyer started farming in Wayne County in 1880, and for more than 90 years the family grew potatoes, shipping them to Cleveland, Akron, Columbus and later to chip makers. When the potato market struggled in the 1990s, the family began opening the farm to visitors in 2000. Potatoes ended in 2018; the farm now grows pumpkins, wheat, corn, popcorn and soybeans.

The fall season runs September 2 through October 31 in 2026, Wednesday through Sunday. Admission covers more than 50 attractions spread across the farm: giant corn mazes, hayrides, slides, farm animals and play areas. In September a flower field is open (through September 27 in 2026), and each ticket includes one flower, with jars and vases for sale if you want to pick more. Pumpkins are sold through the Country Store. Halloween day is a family-friendly costume day with trick-or-treating for kids 13 and under.

Food is a big part of a visit. Stands sell flatbreads, hot dogs, fresh-cut fries made from potatoes grown on the farm, soft pretzels, kettle corn popped on site and cider slushies, with barbecue, tacos and other vendors on select dates. You can rent a campfire to roast hot dogs or s'mores. Groups of 20 or more get discounts, and the farm runs field trips and homeschool days.

Lavender Trails in Orrville is about 6 miles east, roughly a 15-minute drive, so you could pair a summer lavender visit with a fall return here, or do both on a September day.
