About The Amish Door
The Amish Door started in March 1977 as a 48-seat family restaurant in Wilmot, on the Stark County edge of Ohio's Amish country. Milo and Anna Kathryn Miller built it up over the decades, adding a barn dining room in 1982, a 450-seat restaurant with a bakery, an event center and, in October 1997, a 52-room inn. The next generation of the family took over daily operations in 2019. The original restaurant building now houses the Amish Door Market.
The restaurant serves home-style cooking: broasted chicken, roast beef, real mashed potatoes, homemade bread and pie, with a daily buffet and a menu. Tuesday's buffet was $16.99 in 2026 and included the salad bar. The bakery opens early for bread, donuts, apple fritters, cookies and seasonal pies. Across the village, the market sells gifts, local products and deli meats and cheeses, and its Corner Cup coffee shop does breakfast items.
The Inn at Amish Door has an indoor pool and hot tub, with packages that include a restaurant meal, and the Milana Event Center hosts weddings, banquets, live events and motorcoach groups of 20 to 400 people. Everything but the inn is closed on Sundays.
