About The Winery at Wolf Creek

The Winery at Wolf Creek sits on a hill in Norton overlooking the Barberton Reservoir. Andrew Wineberg started it in the early 1980s on his parents' property, planting about ten acres of grapes at the base of the hill and two more on the hilltop: Cayuga White, Seyval, Vignoles, Vidal, Chancellor, Leon Millot and De Chaunac. The family-owned winery has been making wine from locally grown grapes ever since.

The tasting room is open every day, from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Besides wine there are craft beers, bourbon, cocktails, mocktails and sodas, and a sister business, The Distillery at Wolf Creek, operates from Norton as well. Since the Troutman Vineyards tasting room near Wooster closed at the end of 2025, Troutman wines are sold here too.

Food is kept simple: salty snacks, chocolates, and local meats and cheeses. You are welcome to bring your own picnic or have food delivered, but outside alcohol is not allowed. Kids can visit the farm's goats and alpacas, friendly animals are welcome, and the calendar mixes live music with craft workshops such as candle making and resin pours, plus Yappy Hour nights.

Lavender Trails in Orrville is about 30 minutes southwest, which makes it easy to pair a summer lavender stop with a late-afternoon glass on the hill.
