About The Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast

The Barn Inn sits on County Road 203 outside Millersburg, a few minutes from Berlin and Mt. Hope in Holmes County. The building was a dairy barn more than a century ago, part of a farm that made and sold its own cheese, and later served as a flower nursery before opening as a bed and breakfast in 1997. Steve and Angie are the current innkeepers.

There are 11 rooms. Seven are queen rooms or suites, including two with whirlpool tubs and two with hand-painted wall murals, and four king suites added in the early 2000s have Amish-made beds and whirlpools. Blue Harvest, on the main floor, has a walk-in shower with grab bars, and two king suites sit near accessible parking and a ramp. Some rooms have gas fireplaces that run from about October to April.

A hot, made-from-scratch country breakfast is served each morning, with dishes such as baked oatmeal and stuffed French toast, and the innkeepers share local events over the meal. Coffee, tea and pastries baked on site are set out in the afternoon and evening. Groups of up to 22 adults can reserve the whole inn for a retreat, with the great room and dining area to themselves. The inn is generally adults only and is not a wedding venue.

Lavender Trails in Orrville is roughly 20 miles north, about 40 minutes away, an easy day trip from an Amish-country stay.
