About Pine Tree Barn

Pine Tree Barn fills a restored 1868 dairy barn on Shreve Road outside Wooster with about 25,000 square feet of shopping. It grew out of a Christmas tree farm that Bob and Betty Dush started in 1952 to help pay for their children's college; their son Roger opened the gift shop in 1980, and today Julie and Matt Kilbourne run it as the third generation.

Inside are three floors of gifts, from art, jewelry and books to candles, puzzles, dishware, bedding and clothing, plus a boutique and a Christmas shop that stays open all year and grows in November and December. Pine Tree Interiors adds more than 150 furniture lines along with rugs, lighting and design services.

The Granary serves lunch daily from 11 to 2:30 in a rustic room that looks out over the Killbuck Valley, the tree farm and the lakes, and its roof deck opened for the 2026 season in May. The seasonal menu is made from scratch, and the lemon crumb muffins, first baked about 25 years ago, are the item regulars ask for. A private Atrium Dining room seats 30 to 40 for showers and birthday lunches.

In November and December the family's 150-acre tree farm, The Farms at Pine Tree Barn, opens for cut-your-own and pre-cut Fraser fir, Canaan fir, white pine and blue spruce, with wreaths and horse-drawn carriage rides. Lavender Trails in Orrville is about 17 miles northeast, roughly 25 minutes away, so a lavender morning and a Granary lunch fit together easily.
