About Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery
Ravine Vineyard sits on the Upper Lowrey Farm in the village of St. Davids, land the Lowrey family has farmed since David Jackson Lowrey bought it in 1867. In 1869 the family planted 500 vines, becoming the area's first commercial grape growers, and later generations grew tender fruit and ran village businesses, a canning factory and the Ravine Sand & Gravel quarry that gave the winery its name. In 2004 Norma Jane Lowrey bought the 34-acre farm from her family, and she and her husband Blair Harber replanted the vineyard and built the winery and restaurant.
The vineyard grows Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Riesling. In 2026 a self-guided tasting of four wines costs $25 plus tax, takes 20 to 40 minutes and needs no reservation. A cheese-paired private tasting (Monday to Thursday) and a sommelier-led back-vintage tasting of aged wines (Friday to Sunday) cost $50 plus tax, are booked ahead and are for guests 19 and over.
The bistro serves a farm-to-table lunch and a prix-fixe dinner Thursday to Monday, with reservations opening 30 days ahead; count children in your party size when booking. The estate also runs a bakery and a winter pizza menu, and hosts weddings and private events.
