About The Wild Tart
The Wild Tart is a European-style patisserie on Metcalfe Street in the center of Elora, owned by Dominique and Geoffrey Wild. Between them they have more than 40 years in hotels and restaurants, from luxury resorts in Bahrain and Egypt to London's Sketch and Fortnum & Mason, where Dominique fell for the ritual of afternoon tea. Geoffrey's career also included a hotel here in Elora before the couple opened a place of their own.
The kitchen serves all-day breakfast and brunch, light lunches and pastries, with sparkling wine and signature cocktails on the drinks side. Afternoon tea is the house specialty and is served every day from 11 am, a good choice for a birthday or an unhurried catch-up after walking the village. There is also a garden tucked away behind the building.
An upstairs private room hosts bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, luncheons, team events and even children's afternoon tea parties. Tables can be booked through their website, which also sells gift cards.
Tullamore Lavender Co. near Arthur is about 25 minutes northwest. Book afternoon tea in Elora after a morning in the lavender, or start with brunch and drive up after.
