About Harmony Meadows Alpaca

Harmony Meadows Alpaca is a working alpaca farm on Sixth Line near Belwood that has been raising its herd for more than 17 years, since 2008. Visits are by appointment only, which keeps the groups small and the alpacas relaxed, and the farm has been featured on regional television and in Toronto city guides.

A visit takes place right in the pasture. The farm hands you a grain treat to feed the alpacas from your palm, staff answer questions about the animals, and you can pet any alpaca that is willing. You can add a guided tour, and private tours, workshops, yoga and special events can be requested ahead of time. Each fall the farm also joins the local Rural Romp; in 2026 it ran on Saturday, September 26, with no farm admission charged that day.

The farm store sells what the herd's fiber becomes: socks, mitts and gloves, hats, scarves and shawls, blankets and throws, duvets, toys, plus yarn and roving for knitters and spinners. There is a washroom in the store and free parking on site. Visits suit all ages; children under 2 are free but should be counted in the booking.

Hereward Farms, a large lavender farm in East Garafraxa, is about 8 miles northeast, around 15 minutes by county roads, so a summer morning in the lavender pairs well with an afternoon alpaca appointment.
