About Elliott Tree Farm
Elliott Tree Farm sits north of Hillsburgh in the Town of Erin, on land farmed since about 1850. The Elliott family has grown Christmas trees here since 1983, and the farm also taps a sugarbush; its Golden maple syrup was listed among the world's top 20 in a 2025 food ranking. A heritage barn holds the gift shop, and the farm runs the Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario, with Indigenous, pioneer and early modern artifacts and walking loops through the woods.
From April through early November, the Maple Syrup Farm Experience runs on weekends at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. The guided ride through the plantations and sugarbush stops at the sugar shack and ends with a flight of Golden, Amber and Dark syrup, a maple sugar leaf, maple taffy on ice, and a waffle ice cream sandwich, about 90 minutes in all. In late winter, harvest-season weekends add all-you-can-eat pancakes.
Christmas season in 2026 runs daily November 14 to December 23. Pre-cut Fraser and balsam firs wait in the fieldstone tree cellar, and you can cut your own Canaan fir, blue spruce or Norway spruce in the groves. Weekends from November 14 to December 13 bring Santa's Cabin, with a vintage 1947 airplane on display. The heated canteen serves hot drinks and food, and there's no parking or entry fee for tree shopping.
Hereward Farms in East Garafraxa is about 12 minutes north.
