About Heartwood Farm & Cidery
Heartwood Farm & Cidery is a 42-acre regenerative farm on 2nd Line in Erin, raising cows, pigs, sheep and chickens and keeping bees, alongside apple, maple, fruit and nut trees, woodland, pasture and wetland. The farm describes more than 20 years of learning from this land, and it turns Ontario farm-grown fruit into small-batch ciders with no artificial additives.
The lineup includes ciders such as Forest Garden, Hoppity and Eve Goes Badass, plus a non-alcoholic Sparkle line in sour cherry, apple, pear and Concord grape. The bottle shop is open by appointment, with onsite pickup of orders, so arrange your visit before you go.
For a longer stop, the farm runs bookable experiences: Animals & Awe, a behind-the-scenes look at the farm, from $15, and the fuller Heartwood Days for $45. Overnight guests stay in one of three tents, two in the orchard and one in the spruce woods, each with a queen bed, an outdoor kitchen and a campfire circle; guests can help with chores, walk the trails and pick fruit in season. Guest pets are not allowed on farm stays.
Hereward Farms in East Garafraxa is about 20 minutes northwest. In July, a lavender field visit pairs well with a booked farm experience here.
