About Elora Brewing Company
Elora Brewing Company fills a limestone row building on Geddes Street in downtown Elora. A tea merchant opened the first shop on the site in 1868; after an 1883 fire the row was rebuilt the next year and later housed a long-running hardware store. A group of friends began planning the brewery in 2013 and has been brewing since 2015, turning out hundreds of different beers.
It is a gastropub, brewery, bottle shop and music venue in one. Beer is brewed on site, and recent releases have included Ring Road Lager, made with Waterloo Engineering to mark the 100th anniversary of the Iron Ring. The all-day menu runs from lunch through late evening, and the kitchen stays open until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Live music is a big part of the draw. In summer, until the day after Labour Day, tables are first come, first served; outside summer, groups larger than eight should phone ahead Monday to Thursday. Guests with accessibility needs are asked to call when reserving. The Elora Gorge is close by, so a walk at the gorge and a meal here fit together easily.
Tullamore Lavender Co. near Arthur is about 25 minutes northwest. Visit the lavender field in late July for its bloom festival, then come back into Elora for dinner.
