About Hereward Farms
Hereward Farms is a 250-acre property in East Garafraxa, in Dufferin County, that the family has run as a lavender farm since 2020. Thousands of lavender plants share the land with around 400,000 sunflowers, and the farm turns its own lavender into all-natural skincare, body care and home goods. The farm says it is just over an hour from the Greater Toronto Area and a few minutes from Orangeville and Fergus.
The lavender fields are open to visitors from June through September, and the sunflower fields from July through August. For 2026 the farm kept field tickets limited: general admission had to be booked ahead on their website, with guaranteed access for members of its VIP program. Photographers book separate sessions.
Outside the bloom months the farm is still worth a stop. The Lavender Lounge and Café, with coffee, specialty drinks and locally made snacks, and the boutique are open year-round, Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The farm calls this its Sip, Savour and Stroll experience: a drink, a snack and a walk out toward the fields. The shop carries lavender and sunflower honey, bath tea, facial care, body oil sprays, eye pillows and culinary lavender. A wind phone on the property gives visitors a quiet place to reflect.
Belwood Lake is about five minutes away, and Fergus and Elora are within half an hour, so a visit fits easily into a day of exploring the Grand River villages.
