About Wicked Welly Farm & Apiary
Wicked Welly Farm & Apiary is a 25-acre family farm near Belwood run by Christine and John Veit, who moved out from Fergus in 2021 and opened their on-farm store in spring 2023. They keep honey bees, pasture-raise chickens, pigs and lambs, tap a sugarbush, and in 2026 grew about three-quarters of an acre of organic vegetables, herbs and flowers.
The farm store is open daily from March to December, 9 am to 8 pm in summer and 9 am to 6 pm in fall and winter, and by phone appointment in January and February. Honey is the specialty: wildflower honey harvested in July and September, creamed honey blended with cinnamon, chai, lemon or cocoa, habanero-infused honey and beeswax candles. You will also find free-range eggs, whole roasting chickens, heritage pork and lamb, freeze-dried treats, and vegetables from mid-June through November, Thursday to Sunday.
For a closer look, book a one-hour farm tour with the owner ($10 per person in 2026) that walks you through the vegetable plots, the wash station, the livestock and the sugarbush. The farm also runs workshops and evening events; for September 2026 it scheduled a mead tasting paired with a woodlot walk. A weekly vegetable box (CSA) runs through the growing season.
Hereward Farms in East Garafraxa is roughly 8 miles northeast, about 15 minutes, so you can visit the lavender fields and stop here for honey on the way home.
