About The Fieldstone Barn

The Fieldstone Barn is a 17-acre flower farm on Middlebrook Road, within walking distance of downtown Elora. Its centerpiece is a 170-year-old stone barn, used today for weddings, concerts and theater, and visitors can admire it from outside. Each year the farm plants 25 to 45 sunflower varieties in purple, pink, red, orange, lime, white and multicolored forms, alongside flower gardens and beehives.

The sunflower fields usually open in mid to late August, depending on summer weather. Day visitors walk the aisles, pose with props such as a giant LOVE sign, a big swing and vintage couches, and can pay to pick their own flowers. Three alpacas, Indy, Kaleigh and Willow, spend May to October on the farm. Photographers can book one-hour sessions Monday to Thursday.

The farm market store, open weekends 10 am to 2 pm, sells drinks, snacks, raw honey, produce and flowers, with outdoor seating. For an overnight stay, four safari tents with queen beds, espresso machines, hammocks and private hot tubs open from the May long weekend to late October. Picnics and outside food aren't allowed, and there are no garbage bins, so plan to carry out what you bring.

Tullamore Lavender Co. near Arthur is about 25 minutes northwest, so a summer weekend can cover lavender in July and sunflowers in August from one Elora base.
