About Tiffany's Restaurant
Tiffany's Restaurant has been feeding Topeka since 1987, when Fritz Helmuth opened it and named it after his daughter. It started as a 58-seat sandwich shop, grew to about 194 seats in a 1992 expansion, and added the home-style dinners the region is known for: mashed potatoes, chicken, gravy and noodles. It sits on Lake Street on the Amish backroads south of Shipshewana.
Regulars come for the chicken buffet and the salad bar, which is served with homemade chili, clam chowder or chicken noodle soup. Fish is on most nights, prime rib is the Friday night feature, and the Friday and Saturday all-you-can-eat buffet adds roast beef and shrimp. Saturday breakfast brings bacon, fried mush, biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. Save room for dessert: cinnamon rolls, whoopie pies and fresh-baked pies, which you can also buy whole from the new bakery.
The restaurant opens early, at 6 am, and stays open until 7 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. It is handicap accessible, takes credit cards, and has a renovated Oak Room that works for meetings and groups. Parking is on site and across the street at Topeka East Park.
