About B Honey & Candles
B Honey & Candles is an Amish-owned farm shop in the countryside outside Shipshewana, run by a family that has kept bees since 1986. Most of what fills the shelves is made right on the property, which sets it apart from the bigger gift shops in town: regular and flavored honey, candles poured from pure beeswax, and skin care products made with what the hives produce.
The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm and closed on Sundays, like most Amish businesses in LaGrange County. It is a year-round stop rather than a seasonal one, so it works in any month you are visiting Amish country. Beyond honey and candles you will find hand-sewn items, apple cider vinegar, jams and jellies, and decor made from old barn siding. Beekeepers can also pick up supplies here.
Expect a simple, quiet farm store rather than an attraction. It is bus friendly and has restrooms, which helps on a long day of back-road driving, but it takes cash or checks only, so plan ahead. A jar of local honey or a beeswax candle makes an easy gift to bring home.
Bloomfield Schoolhouse Lavender Farm & Apothecary sells its lavender goods in downtown LaGrange, about 25 minutes east, so you can pair honey from here with lavender products the same afternoon.
