About West End Creamery

West End Creamery is on a Blackstone Valley farm that the VandenAkker family has worked since shortly after 1900. It began with a flock of chickens and grew into West End Dairy, whose Holstein herd supplied milk and cream sold door to door in the valley until 1968. In 1999 fourth-generation farmers Greg and Becky VandenAkker opened the creamery, and today the family grows hay, pumpkins and feed corn alongside its visitor attractions.

The creamery scoops 60 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream, frozen yogurt and sherbet, and a snack shack serves food. Next door is an 18-hole miniature golf course, and the Adventure Farm has more than 25 farm-themed games and activities for kids.

In fall the farm hosts its Fall Festival, with pick-your-own pumpkins and two corn mazes, starting in September and running Friday nights and weekends through October. In 2026 the festival, corn maze and pumpkin patch opened October 3 after a nor'easter pushed back the start. The farm also hosts birthday parties and group outings, and sells gift cards.

The Upton Flower Kitchen in Upton is about 10 minutes north, making an ice cream stop here an easy add-on.
