About ZwanzigZ Pizza & Brewery

ZwanzigZ began in 2002 as a one-room pizza shop on Lafayette Avenue and grew into one of Columbus's best-known independent restaurants. Brewing came in 2011, and in 2016 the brewpub took the small brewpub of the year title at the Great American Beer Festival. The dough is made fresh every day, the sauce is built on California tomatoes and olive oil, and the cheese is never frozen.

More than 20 taps pour beer and soda made on site in Columbus. The rotation over the years has ranged from honey wheat, the long-running favorite, to IPAs, porters, fruit ales and barrel-aged stouts. The house sodas are a reason to bring the family: root beer, orange cream, black cherry and blue raspberry.

It is a family-focused dining room with a full bar and outdoor seating. On weekdays from 11 to 1:30 there is a lunch combo of a big slice, breadsticks and a fountain drink. Growlers, packaged beer and kegs are sold to go. A separate production brewery on 12th Street opened in spring 2022 for one-off beers that are not poured at the pizzeria; that space is 21 and over.

White Diamond Lavender Farms outside Hope is about 20 minutes north. A pizza lunch here and an afternoon among the lavender rows make an easy Bartholomew County day.
