About Dexter Blueberry Farm
Dexter Blueberry Farm is a simple, U-pick-only patch on Beach Road west of the village of Dexter, with blueberry bushes growing in a natural bog setting. There are no pre-picked berries and no frills; you come to pick. The farm rotates between two fields, at 11024 and 10804 Beach Road, so follow the signs when you arrive.
The season starts sometime in July and lasts four to six weeks. In 2026 the opening was set for mid-July, and berries were $2.75 a pound. Bring a clean bucket or borrow one from the farm, and you will get bags to carry the berries home. The farm accepts cash and cards, though it asks visitors to carry cash in case the card reader goes down. The berries are not grown organically.
It works well with children who can stay with an adult, and the farm asks that kids be supervised at all times. Pack water and snacks, plus a hat, sunglasses, bug spray, long sleeves and sturdy shoes. Pets should stay home; any that come must be leashed and kept away from the growing areas, with service dogs the exception. There is no smoking or alcohol on the property.
Hamlett Lavender Farm near Pinckney is about 5 miles north and runs a self-serve you-pick while its lavender is in bloom, so a summer berry morning can easily include it.
