About Jacob's Fresh Farm
Jacob's Fresh Farm grew out of a home garden and a few beehives that Jacob D'Lamater started in 2013. He founded the farm in 2015, and he and his wife Anna, a lavender grower and beekeeper he met at a local beekeeping event, moved it to a 40-acre property on Fletcher Road in 2021. Half the land is in vegetables, about 10 acres are set aside for U-pick, and the rest is wetland and pollinator habitat. The farm is not certified organic but uses no synthetic pesticides, and its hives produce hundreds of gallons of raw honey a year.
The U-pick calendar normally runs from strawberries in early June and lavender at the start of July to sunflowers and cut flowers from late July and raspberries from early August until frost, with pumpkins at the fall festival. In 2026 the strawberry and lavender patches did not open, while sunflowers were offered self-serve daily and raspberries were picked on set days.
The farm stand is open every day of the year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with produce, raw honey and flowers. The farm also sells seasonal CSA shares from spring through the holidays, offers farm tours by appointment and books photo sessions.
Plainly Elegant Lavender is about 5 miles southeast on the west side of Ann Arbor, an easy add on a summer flower-picking day here.
