About Emma Lea Farms

Emma Lea Farms has been in the same family since 1885. It sits on Westham Island at the edge of Ladner, a farming and fishing community, and you reach it over a century-old wooden bridge. The farm uses integrated pest management, combining crop rotation, hand weeding and beneficial insects, with chemical use only as a last resort.

Summer is berry season. Strawberries run from early June to the end of June, then raspberries, tayberries, black currants and blackberries from the end of June into early July. Blueberries follow from early July to early August. In October the pumpkin patch opens with pumpkins and gourds to hunt for in the field or pick from a pre-harvested pile, plus an oat maze with jokes hidden along the paths.

The farm market sells Okanagan fruit, local vegetables, fresh-pressed juices, honey, flowers, frozen berries, jam, frozen pies, beeswax candles and SPCA-certified beef. The Ice Cream Shoppe serves hot apple cider to sip around the fire in fall. Fall 2026 weekends bring Apple Fest (October 17–18) and Pumpkin Fest (October 24–25) with pop-up vendors, food trucks and live music, and October 29–31 is Bring Your Pup to the Patch. The farm also hosts field trips, dinners and Christmas and spring markets.

Lavenderland in Richmond is about 25 minutes north through the tunnel, so a summer day can combine berry picking here with lavender fields.
