About Lavenderland
Lavenderland is a family-run lavender farm on Steveston Highway in Richmond, started in 2021 and only a short drive from central Vancouver. Three varieties carry the season: Superblue opens with blue flowers from mid-June, pink-flowered Melissa follows in early July, and Grosso, the one with the classic lavender scent, blooms from mid-July into mid-September. Color usually peaks from late June through early August, depending on the weather. Lavender from the fields goes into the farm's own still, where it is steam distilled into oil and hydrosol.
During bloom the fields are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and until 7 p.m. on weekends, with last entry an hour before closing. Booking ahead is recommended, especially on weekends and holidays, and walk-ins are taken when there is space. Children 3 and under are free. Picking lavender is not allowed, but fresh and dried bouquets are sold in the boutique. Hands-on workshops run daily in season, including a botanical candle class and a lavender wax hanger class, and the property's greenhouse, barn, event hall and lawns host private gatherings and field dinners.
The boutique is open year-round. It stocks the farm's essential oil and hydrosol, tea and edible buds from Superblue, sachets filled with Grosso, soaps, balms and hand wash. In summer a window sells lavender ice cream, and there is also lavender kombucha, slushies and snacks. Kids can burn off energy in a greenhouse-style bouncy castle.
Emma Lea Farms on Westham Island is about 20 minutes away, a natural second stop on a Richmond and Delta farm day.
