This guide covers three clusters of lavender farms on either side of the Strait of Georgia. On the mainland, Lavenderland sits on Steveston Highway in Richmond, Full Bloom Lavender Farm is on 248th Street in South Langley, Tuscan Farm Gardens is on Mt Lehman Road in Abbotsford, and Loveleigh and Harrison Lavender are farther up the Fraser Valley in Chilliwack and Agassiz. Across the water, Bilston Creek Farm and Happy Valley Lavender are in Metchosin on Victoria's western edge, and Sacred Mountain Lavender and Lavender & Black grow on Salt Spring Island. Plan one cluster per day: the island farms need a ferry from the mainland.
Each cluster has its own day out. In the Fraser Valley you can pair lavender with berry picking, a turkey-farm bistro and the old Hudson's Bay Company post at Fort Langley. Around Metchosin, Witty's Lagoon and Fisgard Lighthouse are a few minutes from the lavender rows. On Salt Spring, Ruckle Park's heritage farm and shoreline trails are a short drive from the farm shops. Fields bloom from late June through August; several farm shops stay open into October.
