About Fruit Acres Farm Market & U-Pick
Fruit Acres is a tree-fruit farm on Friday Road outside Coloma, a few miles inland from Lake Michigan. The farm market sits at 3452 Friday Road and the U-pick orchard is just down the road at 2789. In a normal year the picking calendar runs from sweet cherries in mid-June and tart cherries in late June to peaches in August and apples in September.
In 2026 the U-pick orchard did not open because of a limited tree fruit crop, but the market stayed open daily from June, starting with Michigan strawberries and blueberries, and moved into the farm's own apples and pears in fall. In October the tables also hold certified organic vegetables, mums, pumpkins and corn stalks. Honeycrisp apples usually ripen around the third week of September and are sold at the stand rather than picked.
Beyond fruit, the market stocks cider, local honey, maple syrup, jams, pasties, local meats, cheese, milk and pasture-raised eggs. Leashed dogs may stay in the parking lot and picnic and play areas, but only service animals may enter the stand. Field trips and professional photo sessions can be arranged by email, and larger produce orders need a day's notice.
