About The Sparkes Farmgate

The Sparkes Farmgate sells produce picked daily from the family's own fields, with sweet corn as the signature crop. The Agassiz store on the Agassiz-Rosedale Highway is one of two Sparkes farm stores; the other is on Prairie Central Road in Chilliwack, and the family also runs drive-thru corn barns around Chilliwack and Abbotsford.

Fresh strawberries and raspberries come first, from May into August, and Sparkes corn runs June to September. In autumn the store moves on to pumpkins, squash and other fall vegetables, and the farm runs a pumpkin patch where you can choose your own. Frozen berries and produce from local suppliers are on the shelves year-round.

The ice cream counter scoops 24 flavors by hand, including sugar-free and dairy-free choices. Kids can burn off energy on the giant inflatable jump pad and the playground, while parents sit at covered or open-air tables nearby. The farm hosts birthday parties and runs pumpkin field trips with a Life of a Pumpkin session for school groups.

Harrison Lavender is about 10 minutes away, so you can stop for corn and ice cream on the way to or from the lavender farm.
