About Washington Island Campground
Washington Island Campground is a privately owned campground on Eastside Road, run by Mike and Kayla Stults. It is a practical base for exploring the island at an unhurried pace: the car ferry from the mainland makes a five-mile crossing and takes campers of any size, so you can bring an RV or trailer across.
Sites range from non-electric tent sites with a fire pit and picnic table to electric-and-water sites for RVs, horse sites with corrals, and a group site. For those without gear there are rustic cabins with bunks and a futon, deluxe and premium cabins with heat, air conditioning and bathrooms, and a furnished travel trailer. Posted rates for the 2026 season started at $30 a night for a tent site and $45 for electric, with cabins from $95. Children stay free, and cabin guests bring their own linens and cookware.
The campground is set up for families. A large swimming pond with a sandy beach is the centerpiece, with a playground, sand volleyball, a mini-golf course and a lodge with remodeled restrooms and showers, a game room with a pool table and coin laundry. Firewood and ice are sold on site. Leashed pets are welcome at campsites and in the rustic cabins for a fee, but not in the pond or the upgraded cabins.
Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm & Shop is a short drive away on the same side of the island, so campers can visit the lavender fields in July and be back at the pond by afternoon.
