About Seaquist Orchards Farm Market
Seaquist Orchards is a Door County cherry farm about two miles north of Sister Bay on Highway 42. The family traces its start to Swedish immigrants who arrived in the 1860s and planted their first orchard in the early 1910s. The farm grew from 100 acres in the 1960s to roughly 1,300 acres spread between Sturgeon Bay and Sister Bay, with a focus on tart cherries, and the family also runs the last cherry processing plant left in the county, in Egg Harbor.
The farm market opens in early May and closes at the end of October. In 2026 it ran Monday through Saturday, 9 to 5, plus Memorial Day and Labor Day. Cherry picking is the summer highlight: in 2026 pick-your-own ran Thursday through Saturday from July 9, with sweet cherries first and tart cherries from mid-July into about August 1. Entry is free and you pay by the half or full pail, which the farm lines and provides.
Inside the market you will find made-from-scratch baked goods including cherry pie, cherry pie filling, jams, jellies and salsas from the family's own canning company, plus apples later in the season. Families can use a shaded playground with a sandbox, swings, a rope maze and a tricycle track through the woods, and in fall the greenhouse turns into a three-story straw maze for kids. A barbecue food truck parks by the playground.
Island Lavender's fields lie a short drive south toward Baileys Harbor, so a July morning of cherry picking pairs naturally with an afternoon among the lavender during bloom.
