About Intermiel
Intermiel is a family beekeeping farm in the Saint-Benoît sector of Mirabel that began welcoming visitors at the family home in the late 1970s. In the 2000s it added a meadery and distillery, and today the shop carries raw, creamed and liquid honeys (including a melon honey in limited quantities), mead, honey gin, honey liqueur, cider, vodka, eaux-de-vie, maple syrup, and propolis and royal jelly care products.
The guided tour lasts about an hour and a half. A beekeeper opens a hive, there is a workshop on honey extraction and hive products, then a walk through the meadery and distillery and a tasting of gourmet products and alcohols. In 2026 tours ran on weekends and holidays from May 1 to June 23, every day from June 24 to August 30, and on weekends and holidays from September 1 to October 25, with weekday fall tours for groups by reservation only. Tours start at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., rain or shine. Taxes included, tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for ages 65 and up and $10 for children 4 to 15, with family packages at $55 and $65.
The shop is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Inside, a glass wall holds six active hives. Shop customers and tour guests can visit the mini-farm, where rabbits, goat kids and lambs live, and picnic in the play area (no barbecues). A new pollinator flower garden was added recently, and the site is described as easy for strollers and visitors with reduced mobility.
La Maison Lavande in Saint-Eustache is about 20 minutes east, so a morning hive tour here and an afternoon in the lavender fields make a full summer day in the Basses-Laurentides.
