About Maan Farms
Maan Farms began in 1977, when Jawahar and Gurbachan Maan started growing cole crops and then strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in Abbotsford. The family opened roadside stands in the 1980s and 1990s, moved to McKenzie Road in 2006, and added a corn maze and pumpkin patch that same year. Kris and Devinder Maan now run the farm with their children, and the farm added an estate winery in 2013 that makes fruit wines from berries grown on the property.
Berry season starts in early June, with Puget Reliance as the first strawberry, followed by raspberries and blueberries. In fall, Fall at the Farm takes over: an expanded Forest Pumpkin Patch with more than 15 photo spots, two corn mazes and Barnyard Adventureland, where you can feed goats, pigs, alpacas, donkeys, Highland cows, mini horses and sheep. Pumpkins are priced by size and measured as you leave. On select October evenings from 7 p.m., the farm runs a Halloween Fright Festival with haunted attractions.
The Country Kitchen serves fall treats such as a double pumpkin spice cream made with roasted pumpkins from the patch, apple pie samosas and made-to-order mini donuts. The farm also hosts goat yoga, birthday parties, field trips and weddings in a restored barn with a view of Mt. Baker.
Tuscan Farm Gardens is about 20 minutes away by car, so you can pair a summer berry pick at Maan Farms with an afternoon among the lavender.
