About Taves Family Farms

The Taves family started this Abbotsford farm in 1990, and Loren and Corinne Taves still run it. It grows apples, pumpkins and plums for picking, and the family presses its own apple cider at Taves Estate Cidery on the same property.

The farm's big season is Magic of Fall, which runs September 12 to October 31 in 2026. It brings a pumpkin garden and patch with a princess carriage, corn mazes, hayrides, apple picking and the Mystical Meadow with a 150-foot slide, animals, pedal karts and bubbles. On weekdays you can pick apples and pumpkins without a pass, while weekends and holidays need a Weekend Picking Pass for the patch, orchard and Mystery Maze. The Jonagold U-pick orchard down the road at 270 Gladwin Road has no fee at any time. Fruit is paid for by the bucket or bag. A summer season with sunflowers is planned for 2027, with dates to come.

The Petting Barn with slides and trikes is included with the Fun and SuperFUN passes. On weekends, the Country Store, a concession, coffee hut and food trucks serve visitors. The cidery pours fall ciders and cocktails, with non-alcoholic choices as well.

Tuscan Farm Gardens is about 20 minutes northwest, so a summer visit can pair lavender fields with Taves once its sunflower season returns.
